Jean Flint Capron wrote the book Handle with Care using the pen name Lucy Malone.

Jean Flint grew up in Harrington Park, NJ and graduated from Dumont High School, with the Class of 1941. After graduating from high school, Jean furthered her education attending Hackensack Hospital Nursing School, Hackensack, NJ. She and her husband, Staff Sgt. Harry Capron, purchased a farm in upstate New York and raised 7 children. In 1960, after her youngest child began school, Mrs. Capron enrolled in a correspondence course in creative writing. Her first short story was published in 1961; in 1967, at the age of 43, the first of her novels, The Trouble with Lucy, was published. For over 30 years she greatly enjoyed her role as Boonville (N.Y.) Herald Columnist. For many years Mrs. Capron was a member of a local writers club. She was also an avid reader who was well known for wearing red lip stick and her dry wit.
